Making a home your own – Kitchen Transformation on the cheap

Some people run and hide from home projects, but I thrive from them. We recently bought our dream home. It’s actually where my husband grew up as a child. Our first project was the kitchen. The cabinets are solid oak, a great quality, but not the color or style we wanted.

Our amazing painter, Brian, owner of Rockstar Painting, painstakingly painted every cabinet a pure white. The white color brightened up the room dramatically. We also opted to leave the last few cabinets without cabinet doors to give it a more open feel. We chose to display glasses, some real fun ones with etched prints on them in the very middle.

We also changed out the hardware, put in a new faucet, and replaced the appliances. We have a contemporary style, so we went with a satin nickel finish on just about everything.

This is the end result. WAY cheaper than a full out remodel. The only thing we have left to do is the replace the backsplash to a glass tile. There are bigger fish to fry though at the moment, so we will get to that at some point. I’ll post the before and after of the remainder of the house as it happens.
